Troubleshooting Common Sound Issues

Issues with sound not coming out of your computer, or from the wrong device can usually be fixed with a few simple steps. First, physically verify the connection to whatever you are trying to play audio through. Unplug and plug it back in if you haven't done it already. If the steps below don't work, try restarting your computer and see if that fixes the issue.

1. Click the sound icon in the taskbar

2. Click the volume/slide icon to the right of the volume slider.

3. Choose the correct output device. If you are unsure, you can try each one on the list untilone works.
